(Source: WordNet ® 2.0, © 2003 Princeton University) The Apostles Jesus came to Earth so that people could have a "saving" relationship with God. In order to accomplish that purpose, He chose 12 ordinary men and taught them the ways of Truth, Salvation, and Godly living. He commissioned these 12 "Apostles" to practice (and teach others to practice) the things He taught them. It is important to realize that the Apostles heard the message of Truth straight from the mouth of Jesus, and Jesus commissioned them to begin His Church. The Apostolic Church |
